Well, the weather has warmed up in Melbourne this past week, and I reckon that’s been playing a big part in the fact that I felt super motivated. It’s just way easier to get going in the morning when it’s warm.
I woke up early and got a walk in with a podcast to get the day started for the last few days of the week, and even managed a 5:30am wake up on Saturday morning, despite not starting work till 9:00am. Wild stuff I know!
I’m liking listening to an entrepreneurial type podcast in the morning if I can, as I find that listening to some very successful people talking about doing their thing gives me a kick up the bum and motivates me to put in some real work for the day, as opposed to my usual approach of procrastinating until I’ve got no choice but to get started.
Two of my go to morning podcasts at the moment are both of Tim Ferris’ series, which I’ve provided links to below.
With the weather being so nice, I dragged my set of ropes out into the yard and got a couple of cardio sessions in, and it felt good (in hindsight) to get some serious burning going in my arm parts.
The step up in cardio, plus a pretty good week from a nutrition stand point, has me thinking that I’ve started this week just a little bit leaner than I started last week.
I got three lower body, and two upper body weight sessions in at the gym, and all apart from one upper body session (just moving bad that day) were good. If I can just add in some higher intensity cardio work for my lower body on top of everything else I’m doing, the progress from a body composition stand point should shift along nicely.
And lastly, but not leastly, I did mobility work every day except one last week, with the missed one being caused by putting it off until later in the day, and then falling asleep hard (and early).
My motivation to do my mobility work has been helped no doubt by the new book on mobility techniques I’ve started reading, called The Roll Model. I’ll let you know how it is when I’ve finished it, but so far so good.
Anywho, that’s about it for this one.
Thanks for reading, and have a great week!
